In your trek to Mohare Danda, you will walk through beautiful Magar and Gurung villages and get the breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre. Mohare Danda Trek is a recently established trek that takes trekkers through off-the-beaten-path to the hill station of Mohare Danda. This is a short trek that is perfect for those trekkers who are tight on time and still want to experience the remoteness on the trek and witness the majestic Himalayas. Many trekkers trek to Mohare Danda as an alternative to the popular and crowded Poon Hill Trek.

In your Mohare Danda Trek with Halesi Treks, you will spend about six days trekking in the Annapurna region with a total of 10 days for the trip. The trek offers you a perfect blend of beautiful landscapes and the rich culture and tradition of Magar and Gurung people. The breathtaking sunrise view of Annapurna Range, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, and other mountains is the highlight of this trek.

As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our representatives from Halesi Treks will pick you up from the airport. He will transfer you to your hotel room, and give you the orientation about your trek to Mohare Danda. After that, you can explore the town and return to your hotel room in the evening. Overnight stay in a hotel Kathmandu.

After your breakfast, you will leave the hotel travel to Pokhara through Prithvi highway. The drive takes about 7-8 hours. You can also travel to Pokhara by a flight that takes about half an hour. You can stroll down the streets of Pokhara and spend your time in the Lakeside. Pokhara is a touristic center of Nepal. It has several attractions like Phewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Vishwashanti Stupa, Davis Falls, and more. It also offers 
 adventure sports like paragliding, zip flying, mountain biking, canyoning, and more. overnight stay in a hotel.

Today, you will drive to Galeshwor from Pokhara which takes about 3 and half hours. You will travel along the bank of Kali Gandaki river. After reaching Galeshwor, you will have your lunch there and start your trek to Bans Kharka. You ascend for about 3 hours and cross the Kali Gandaki river by a suspension bridge on the way. The route takes you through the green forest and beautiful villages. Overnight stay at a community lodge.

Today, you trek for about 7 hours in total. After a hearty breakfast, you begin your walk from Bans Kharka. You pass through several villages on the way. Throughout the way, you will have breathtaking views of stunning mountains and the surrounding landscapes. On the way, you will get a chance to visit an organic farm school and Magar villages. Overnight stay at a lodge in Naangi.

Walkthrough a green lush forest of rhododendron and oak with majestic views of Machhapuchhre, South Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, and some other mountains on the way. After about 7 hours of walk, you finally reach Mohare Danda. Overnight stay at a lodge on the hills station of Mohare Danda.

Today, you will wake up early and see the sunrise view of Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, South Annapurna, Tukuche, Nilgiri, and some other mountains from Mohare Danda. Capture those magical moments and have breakfast there. After breakfast, you will begin descending to Deurali Danda. You will have several small uphill climbs and some sharp descents to make it to Deurali. After about 5 hours of walk, you will reach Deurali from the Ghorepani route. Overnight stay at a hotel in Deurali.

You will move through the at alpine meadows, forest, and agricultural lands and cross Khumbu River by a suspension bridge. After about five hours of walk, you will finally reach Ghandruk Village. Ghandruk Village is a popular village that offers majestic views of mountains including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare, and more. There are many teahouses in the village. Travelers get a warm welcome and hospitality in Ghandruk. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Ghandruk village.

The trek distance from Ghandruk to Nayapul is about 8.5 kilometers. You will descend along terraced rice fields via Chane, Kimche, Syauli Bazar, Chimrung, and Birethanti to finally arrive at Nayapul. You will walk for about 4 hours. From Nayapul, you will drive to Pokhara by jeep which takes about 1.5 hours.

You will travel back to Kathmandu by a deluxe tourist bus. The scenic views of beautiful villages forests, rivers, and landscapes make the travel a memorable one.  After about 6-7 hours of travel, you will finally arrive at Kathmandu. We will then transfer you to your hotel room. Then, you can spend the rest of the time resting or exploring Thamel. Thamel is a touristic center of Kathmandu. In the evening, we will host you a farewell dinner party in a typical Nepali restaurant. You can share the story of your Mohare Danda Trek with us. We will then transfer you to your hotel.

    Useful Information

    Accommodation During the Mohare Danda Trek

    All the accommodation as per the itinerary is included in the package cost. Halesi Treks have chosen the 2/5 star hotel in the cities for your comfort and safety. The hotels can be upgraded to more deluxe ones upon your request. While trekking in the Mountain, our guides will choose the best available lodge of the village from their past experience.  Comfortable two men tent with mattress and four seasons sleeping bag will be provided for the camping trek. Our crew will try to set the camp in a scenic place. All the hotel and camping accommodations are as per twin sharing basis unless you are of a different gender.

    Meals during the Mohare Danda Trek

    Nepal is such an easy place to get several vegetarian options so no worries if you are a vegetarian or non-vegetarian. you can enjoy typical Nepali food as well as continental, Italian, Indian and Tibetan. Freshly cooked and hygienic dinner and breakfast are served at the camp and lunch will be served on the way to the next destination which will be prepared by our own chef. Only breakfast is served in Kathmandu whilst farewell dinner on the eve of your international departure is served from our side. All the meals (B/L/D) are on full board basis during the trek.

    Trekking Crew

    An experienced and licensed Guide and necessary porters will assist you during the trek. In a group with more than 8 clients, 2 guides will be provided for the betterment in service. In a teahouse trek, generally, one porter is provided for every two clients who carry between 15 to 18 kg. However, on a camping journey, more porters are required. All the camping types of equipment such as kitchen, dining, dome and toilet tents, kitchen equipment, fuel, and all consumable goods have to be carried from Kathmandu which needs more manpower. All of our guides and porters are fully insured so you don't' have to worry about them in case of emergency. Our team believes that our customer care is the first priority.

    Physical Fitness and Experience for Mohare Danda Trek

    Mohare Danda Trek is an easy trek which is fit for those who has the ability to walk 5-6 hours of walking uphill and downhill in a day carrying the personal day pack. Some days are longer with 7- 8 hours of walking as well. Mohare Danda Trek is low altitude trek which demands less physical, however having strong determination, positive vibe and average physical fitness can complete this trek. Doing some physical exercise a few weeks prior to the trip is better but technical skill is not required for this trek.     Travel Insurance

    This is a real adventure in high altitude so obtaining a travel insurance is always a good idea for your safety and is highly recommended too. Your travel insurance policy should cover helicopter evacuation and medical expenses in an emergency. There is not any Nepalese insurance company to sell travel insurance policy so you better buy a good one from home. There are some insurance policies which covers only in low altitude below 4000 mt. and some only in high altitude above 4000 mt. So before you purchase it, please double-check the policy what it covers and where are you going.

    Best Seasons

    Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for Mohare Danda Trek. Where normally days are sunny, the temperature is perfect, the sky is clear and Mountain remains crystal. This trek can be done in Monsoon (June to August ) but you should not expect the great weather and Mountain view.  You can do it in Winter (December to February) if you are used to with extreme cold temperature.

    Ground Transportation

    Highway in Nepal is safe, however, sometimes transport can be halted due to landslide, strike or by political unrest. Add a cushion of a few extra days in your onward travel schedule, advised as a margin of safety for your international flight from Nepal. We, therefore, advise that you schedule at least an extra days cushion in your itinerary to avoid conflicts with international flights out of Nepal. In that case, Halesi Treks can arrange activities with your additional days in Kathmandu before your flight home.
