Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) recently helped explore Phikuri Peak Trekking Trail located in Nuwakot District. The five days exploration visit of the new trekking trail, starting from Mangsir 21 -25, 2076, was organized by Rasuwa Nuwakot Paryatan Samaj (RNPS) and supported by TAAN.
Phikuri Peak Trekking trail is one of the newest trekking trails in Nepal and is named after the picturesque Phikuri peak (3800). The peak offers breathtaking views of majestic Himalayas including Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang and Mt. Dorje Lakpa. Populated mainly by culturally rich Tamang and Gurung communities, one can observe typical Nepali village life, visit medieval Nuwakot Durbar and sheep farm and enjoy both homestay and camping experience. Trekkers will also have the opportunity for Trishuli rafting and zipline ride. There exists shorter (5 days) and longer (7 days) versions of Phikuri Peak Trekking trail depending upon one's interests and time availability.
